ThisHeavyEarth Abduction v1.0 Compressor/Limiter Pedal

Studio quality, VCA-based Compressor/Limiter

Compression in metal and rock guitars can be as useful as it is on bass. This device has been a staple of my bass and guitar tones for quite awhile and I have decided after some beta testers it's ready for prime time.

Sporting the typical COMP control you would expect, Abduction brings the features needed for refinement of leads, rhythms and more with make-up GAIN to offset the lower level due to heavier compression settings with THRESH being your detection control for where the compression starts to impact your signal.

When dialing in heavy amounts of compression, use the ORIGIN control to blend in your clean signal parallel to the compressed signal. I typically don't use this when dialing in low amounts of compression on guitar but this will allow you to bring that top end shine and dynamics back into the output. LEVEL can be use to dial in unity gain or boost even further, making this a killer lead guitar effect or just hit your preamp a little harder for more break-up.

I find a good starting spot for dialing in Abduction is about 9'oclock to noon on GAIN and noon to 3'oclock on THRESH, then raise COMP to your preferred amount. LEVEL and ORIGIN.
